Millionaires Are Buying Solar Powered Cars
If you’ve been watching the growing automotive trends and gas prices, you’ll know that combustion engines are being slowly phased out in exchange for newer technologies that make traveling more fuel efficient, more energy efficient, better for the environment and honestly just superior. While this used to be a pipe dream that would cost waaaaay too much for a normal consumer to purchase with batteries that would go out waaaaay too soon for anyone to use their car for anything other than running one small errand, huge leaps have been made in the last few years to make this technology cheaper, to make it more effective and to ultimately make it the car designs of the future.
Twenty years from now we might all be driving solar powered cars. That will likely be thanks to a few innovators who have gone above and beyond to create some of the coolest tech around. That, of course, includes the billionaire innovator and futurist himself, Elon Musk. The internet’s favorite billionaire has long been working on the Cybertruck, the secure heavy truck that would dispel any prejudices about these types of cars being weak and ineffectual. It’s just taken a long time to get there.
Then we’ve got a host of other teams racing to get their solar cars to market. It appears like that race is coming down to the wire as several of these companies are aiming for a 2023 release date for their batmobiles, SUVs, and commercial cars to join the gas guzzlers on the road.
A lot of these innovations wouldn’t be possible without the legendary WSC, or World Solar Competition. This has been the event that has pushed this tech further and further each and every year. This has then trickled down into the cars that will soon be available for purchase.
