Inside Johnny Depp’s $5 Million Private Island

The internet is more obsessed with the trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp than the public conscience has cared about a court case since O.J. Simpson’s legendary celebrity trial. This one has all of the same dark and sinister twists, surprisingly hilarious lawyers and judges and a lush background of an A-list lifestyle. There’s one thing this has that the Simpson trial didn’t have. A private island.

Johnny Depp apparently found his own private place to escape the pressures of Hollywood. He discovered it during the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean and it became his haven. He even named beaches after friends and family after building an eco-friendly place there.

The island eventually stood as the location for his marriage to Heard. It also apparently stood for the dissolution of the same relationship as several high profile arguments and violent altercations allegedly happened there. The only place worse for this couple was Australia. They may have committed the biggest dog smuggling related crime the country will ever see.

Then we’ve got the sillier side to this trial. It is wild that a matter so serious has been met with so many surreal moments stranger than anything he’s done with Tim Burton. This includes a vaping witness, alpacas, and a wild swing from Amber Heard’s team to have a major piece of testimony hinge are her explanation about a batch of muffins. It has to be seen to be believed.
